Makita offers the 40V max XGT Six-quart HEPA Filter Dry Backpack Vacuum (GCV08), which allows users to navigate obstacles without trailing a vacuum behind them, as well as for overhead cleaning and cleaning in limited spaces.

The Backpack Dry Vacuum is a powerful and portable clean-up solution that eliminates extension cords that trail corded backpack vacuums, it features over two time more suction power with 85 CFM and 80-in. water lift (when compared to the Makita LXT model XCV17).
The GCV08 features a two-stage HEPA filtration system that captures 99.97% of particulates 0.3 microns and larger. For two-times longer run time, the vacuum features an auto-switching two-bay battery system allowing the user to get more work done.
The six-quart capacity is portable and allows the user to navigate obstacles without trailing a vacuum behind them, as well as for overhead cleaning and cleaning in limited spaces. The backpack vacuum features four-speed power selection for power level choices and run time management.

It runs on one 40V max XGT battery, but the two-bay battery system accommodates two batteries and will auto switch to the second one, when the first battery is depleted. When running with two 4.0Ah batteries on power level 3, the vacuum delivers up to one hour of run time.
Other features include a built-in LED light on the controller that illuminates the work area, a stopper that prevents the cover from closing without the dust bag installed and padded shoulder straps and waist belt with multiple adjustments. The GCV08 also includes an anti-static hose (1-1/4 x 32 in.), an aluminum telescoping wand, and a 12.5-in. floor nozzle for janitorial applications.
